Having previously supplied furniture for Friends of Ham’s first bar in Leeds, we were delighted to work with them again on their second location in Ilkley.
Our role was to create a collection of bespoke dining tables for the new space, alongside sourcing original vintage stacking chairs to complement the relaxed, characterful interior.
At the heart of the project was a large communal dining table made from reclaimed vintage cheeseboards. Originally used for maturing Gouda, years of use had left distinctive dark circular marks and a rich natural patina across the timber — traces of the material’s previous life that made every board completely unique.
We designed the table around these reclaimed boards, pairing them with a substantial painted timber base that was distressed by hand to give it a naturally aged appearance. The result was a one-off piece with a story particularly fitting for Friends of Ham and their love of great cheese.
Alongside the feature table, we produced a number of rustic and industrial dining tables using reclaimed timber, powder-coated steel A-frame bases and original cast-iron legs, creating an eclectic collection that felt entirely at home within the space.
Client testimonial
“Friends of Ham have worked with Simon and Gemma for a number of years. They have supplied some fantastic pieces of furniture for us plus made us an amazing bespoke table from reclaimed cheese maturing planks. We like the way they understand our needs and know the kind of pieces that may interest us, they are proactive in suggesting things before they make it onto their website. We would highly recommend Mustard Vintage to anyone.”
