A scarcely seen, early model of the iconic, Penguin Donkey Mark 2 shelf/table. Designed in 1963 by the renowned Ernest Race for Isokon.

This is one of those pieces that will haunt you, if you let it get away. It's a thing of beauty that you'll never tire of looking at!

– Excellent restored condition

Promotional literature for the updated Penguin Donkey describes the design as an "obliging creature" which "holds up to 90 paperbacks in two panniers … and provides a convenient chair-side table for your tray of hors d’oeuvres, coffee cups, glass, ashtray, knitting or anything else you want to keep beside you.”.

Excellent restored condition, we have had the donkey professionally repainted, the legs have been cleaned and waxed. It also has the original sticker to the underside - please see the photos.
