A beautifully designed & crafted 1960s teak sideboard manufactured by Nathan.

Featuring simplistic clean lines with striking carved handles. Lots of storage with three good sized drawers, one large central drinks cupboard and two shelved cupboards either side.
The teak has a stunning golden patina that only age can achieve.

The History of Nathan:
Barnet Nathan was a furniture maker of Russian origin and began to manufacture hand-crafted pieces of furniture from his work shop in Hackney Road East London in 1916 and founded B & I Nathan with his brothers. During the first and second world war the company supplemented their high-quality furniture-making business with making munition boxes and tent pegs for the war effort.
By the 1950’s, Nathan was specialising in dining room furniture and creating a brand names. Their dining-room suite the ‘Compton’ was chosen to represent the best British design at a major exhibition in New York in 1954.
The company radically embraced Scandinavian design in the 1960’s and used innovative designs using veneers, primarily in teak. A cohesive look in the home was Nathan’s ideal aesthetic, one which carried through from living room to dining room.
