Mancave Barbers wanted to create a unique space that would reflect their key brand values. Here at Mustard Vintage we worked closely with them to develop a shop interior with an emphasis on authentic, traditional styling and the heritage of British barbering.
Mustard Vintage produced a range of visual concepts for Mancave focusing on bespoke work stations, styling, decorative display and artwork. Working with these concepts Mancave used a selection of Mustard Vintage sourced furniture and materials to produce unique workstations for their barbers.
Mustard Vintage also sourced a range of different display pieces that could be used in the shop. We created a number of bespoke display pieces using vintage barbering equipment such as cut throat razors and clippers which we mounted in vintage shadow boxes. We also produced a range of barber themed, framed, vintage pictures for Mancave and sourced some vintage oak display cases which worked perfectly for displaying point of sale products. We particularly enjoyed making a magazine rack from a vintage brewery crate -most definitely unique!
With 15 years experience in graphic design Mustard Vintage were also able to help create the artwork for the Mancave window graphics - with a life-long obsession for typography, this job was right up our street!
And finally... perhaps our favourite part of the project was making a giant cut throat razor! Mustard Vintage designed and created this from scratch (excuse the pun!) and had it carved out of solid reclaimed Iroko wood (one of our favourite materials to work with). The Iroko was distressed to give that vintage feel, we then etched our own typography onto it and distressed it further, resulting in a eye catching piece that we were really proud of.

Our restoration process
Preparation
We carefully assess every piece, identifying any damage, repairs or replacement parts it may need. Drawers may need new runners, handles can be missing or damaged, and joints may require repair or reinforcement. We look beyond the surface to uncover hidden defects, ensuring each piece is restored to work as it was originally intended.
Restoration
With over 20 years of experience, we know that the right restoration techniques can make all the difference. It’s a delicate process that takes patience, skill and attention to detail — one we’ve taken the time to perfect. Each piece is carefully and sensitively restored, preserving its original character and charm while giving it a new lease of life.
Finishing
Finally, we add the finishing touches — whether that’s painting, oiling or sealing, fitting new handles, hinges or catches, or simply giving the piece a final clean and polish. We make sure every piece is ready for modern living, giving it a new lease of life and a renewed sense of purpose, ready to be loved for generations to come.
Before and after
Each piece is carefully and sympathetically restored to preserve the character, charm and beautiful details that make it unique. The result is a truly individual piece of furniture, thoughtfully restored for
modern living and ready to bring warmth, personality and timeless style to your home for years to come.
