A striking vintage three-seat sofa, believed to date from the 1970s, combining a sculptural tubular chrome frame with beautifully aged dark brown leather cushions and contrasting natural canvas suspension supports.
The sofa has an unusually architectural construction, with three individually suspended seats set within a continuous chrome tubular frame. Each generously padded cushion is deeply buttoned, giving the sofa its relaxed, low-slung appearance, while the sweeping chrome arms and exposed framework create a distinctly modernist feel.
Particularly attractive is the way the cushions are supported. Wide canvas slings wrap around the chrome framework, remaining deliberately visible and creating a lovely contrast against the dark brown leather and polished metal. The frame itself has some particularly pleasing details, including the curved arms and neatly engineered bolted connections.
Condition: Good vintage condition with age-related wear throughout. The leather has been carefully cleaned and treated with a leather restoring cream. It retains plenty of age-related character, with creasing, rubbing and areas of colour variation, particularly along the front edges of the seat cushions. We have deliberately retained this patina rather than attempting to recolour the leather, as we feel it forms an important part of the sofa's character. The chrome frame also has expected signs of age and use. Canvas supports have been laundered and repaired where required.
A very distinctive piece of vintage seating, combining the softness and patina of buttoned leather with the clean lines of chrome and canvas. Despite its three generous individual seats, the open framework keeps the sofa visually light and gives it a particularly striking profile from every angle.
The manufacturer remains unknown; we have found no maker's marks or labels and therefore prefer not to make an unsupported attribution.

Our restoration process
Preparation
We carefully assess every piece, identifying any damage, repairs or replacement parts it may need. Drawers may need new runners, handles can be missing or damaged, and joints may require repair or reinforcement. We look beyond the surface to uncover hidden defects, ensuring each piece is restored to work as it was originally intended.
Restoration
With over 20 years of experience, we know that the right restoration techniques can make all the difference. It’s a delicate process that takes patience, skill and attention to detail — one we’ve taken the time to perfect. Each piece is carefully and sensitively restored, preserving its original character and charm while giving it a new lease of life.
Finishing
Finally, we add the finishing touches — whether that’s painting, oiling or sealing, fitting new handles, hinges or catches, or simply giving the piece a final clean and polish. We make sure every piece is ready for modern living, giving it a new lease of life and a renewed sense of purpose, ready to be loved for generations to come.
Before and after
Each piece is carefully and sympathetically restored to preserve the character, charm and beautiful details that make it unique. The result is a truly individual piece of furniture, thoughtfully restored for
modern living and ready to bring warmth, personality and timeless style to your home for years to come.
