A wonderfully characterful vintage oak cupboard, believed to date from the early-to-mid 20th century, combining beautifully simple, utilitarian design with a lovely warm, rustic finish.
Thought to have originally been used in a school or institutional setting, this charming piece features four useful drawers above a spacious double-door cupboard, offering a fabulous combination of practical storage and attractive vintage styling.
Constructed in oak, the cupboard has a wonderfully honest, understated design, with beautifully figured timber, simple wooden handles and a lovely warm, mellow colour. The exposed dovetail joints along the upper edges are a particularly appealing feature, highlighting the traditional construction and craftsmanship of the piece.
The four drawers are arranged symmetrically across the upper section, each retaining its simple wooden handle. Below, a pair of cupboard doors opens to reveal a generously proportioned storage compartment, ideal for larger household items.
– Excellent Restored Condition
Carefully restored in our workshop and presented in excellent restored condition, this lovely cupboard has been sympathetically refinished, bringing out the rich, warm colour and wonderfully attractive grain of the oak while retaining its authentic vintage character.
There are some polished-in marks, variations in tone and gentle signs of its previous life remaining, all part of the charm of genuine vintage furniture. The drawer interiors and cupboard compartment also retain some age-related marks and staining, consistent with the piece's history and utilitarian origins.
Please take a close look through all photographs, as these form an important part of the description and show the condition, finish and character of the piece in greater detail.
Incredibly versatile, this lovely cupboard would make fabulous storage in a kitchen, hallway, living room or home office. Its relatively simple design and beautiful natural timber make it particularly easy to incorporate into both contemporary and traditional interiors, while its wonderfully rustic appearance adds warmth and character to any space.

Preparation
We carefully assess every piece, identifying any damage, repairs or replacement parts it may need. Finishing
Finally, we add the finishing touches — whether that’s painting, oiling or sealing, fitting new handles, hinges or catches, or simply giving the piece a final clean and polish. We make sure every piece is ready for modern living, giving it a new lease of life and a renewed sense of purpose, ready to be loved for generations to come.
