A decorative, hand carved side table with Japanese floral design. Commissioned and produced for Liberty & Co London. Circa 1905.
- Excellent original condition
These tables were commissioned by Liberty as part of their more exotic range of furniture, when there was a fashion for everything Japanese.
They were hand carved by Japanese fishermen, made in numbered sections for easy packing and transportation, and assembled at the "Eastern Bazaar" in their Regent Street headquarters in London. Hand carved from Mahogany with an ebonised finish.
In excellent original condition, there may be some minor polished in blemishes as to be expected for its age. Please take a look at the photographs for more detail.
A striking and decorative piece that would make a beautiful addition to any stylish home.
