Robert Heritage Hamilton Teak Sideboard produced by Archie Shine
A beautifully designed & crafted 'Hamilton' sideboard designed by Robert Heritage for the award winning British fine cabinet makers Archie Shine c1957 and sold through Heals department stores.
Superb restored condition.
Robert Heritage won a Design award for this Hamilton sideboard as one of twenty products recognised in the Design Council 'Designs of the Year' in 1958 and its easy to see why with features such as the stunning reeded drawer fronts, characteristic trumpet brass handles, raised rear lip and elegantly tapering legs.
The sideboard is constructed from a combination yew veneers (top & sides) the front panels are Rosewood veneer which contrast beautifully with the yew. The colour and patina of the wood gives off a lovely vintage golden glow, the top boasts an impressive grain detail, truly stunning. Featuring a bank of four good sized drawers, the top one with fully intact green baize lined cutlery inserts, the double doors open out to reveal two large shelved cupboard areas with a vast amount of storage capabilities. A very desirable sideboard, in superb restored condition - there are a couple of very minor polished in blemished on the top as to be expected for its age, please see photographs for more detail.
A great addition to any vintage/mid-century inspired interior. A true investment piece.
