A scarcely seen Mid Century large 'S' range sideboard designed by John & Sylvia Reid for Stag Furniture, retailed through Heals.
The Stag S Range were produced between 1960 and 1963, after which time it was discontinued due to a lack of commercial success. This range has not been reissued or reproduced, so you know you are getting a genuine vintage piece.
**Please Note** At the time of listing we also have the matching small sideboard that can be configured to create one large piece if desired.
– Superb restored condition
Featuring iconic nickel-plated V-shaped legs & L-shaped handles. The handles were all custom made and are recessed neatly on the top of the drawer and door fronts. All the internal surfaces are veneered with beech, creating a strong contrast with the darker teak exterior. The piece has a true modernist aesthetic, way ahead of its time!
Complete with the three original trays (with blue baize lining) one pull out shelf and four drawers which include the original cutlery tray.
This is an early example with the custom made hinges instead of the later barrel versions.
Superb restored condition, one owner from new, the sideboard has been kept in incredibly good condition. We have given the piece very little restoration, a light clean and polish only.
No major marks or damage, original black strip in tact, no ring marks. there may be some very minor polished in marks as to be expected for its age, please take a look at the photographs for more detail.

Our restoration process
Preparation
We carefully assess every piece, identifying any damage, repairs or replacement parts it may need. Drawers may need new runners, handles can be missing or damaged, and joints may require repair or reinforcement. We look beyond the surface to uncover hidden defects, ensuring each piece is restored to work as it was originally intended.
Restoration
With over 20 years of experience, we know that the right restoration techniques can make all the difference. It’s a delicate process that takes patience, skill and attention to detail — one we’ve taken the time to perfect. Each piece is carefully and sensitively restored, preserving its original character and charm while giving it a new lease of life.
Finishing
Finally, we add the finishing touches — whether that’s painting, oiling or sealing, fitting new handles, hinges or catches, or simply giving the piece a final clean and polish. We make sure every piece is ready for modern living, giving it a new lease of life and a renewed sense of purpose, ready to be loved for generations to come.
Before and after
Each piece is carefully and sympathetically restored to preserve the character, charm and beautiful details that make it unique. The result is a truly individual piece of furniture, thoughtfully restored for
modern living and ready to bring warmth, personality and timeless style to your home for years to come.
